My 4th Wall Mural at the Univiersity of Hong Kong Centennial College Campus. Lecture Theatre CPD-3.18
It was a calm overcast sky on Friday 22nd January 2010 sometime around 2:00 pm. I had set my task that day, to find an interesting scene along the Waterfront Promenade at the Central Piers in downtown Hong Kong’s “Central Precinct”.
The area, I recall was not busy nor overcrowded, as it is today, 18th February 2015. I could easily find a place to sit on the steps of the pier over looking the ferry terminals, and sketch at my leisure.
Of the 7 harbour jetties that exists there, I purposely chose this perspective view to highlight not only the cross harbour ferries, but one that includes architects Kohn, Pedersen, & Fox, International Commerce Centre Tower.
Five years later, however, the section of the sketch chosen by architects Wong & Ouyang for the Wall Mural, unfortunately could not include the KPF tower.
The complex details of the ferry at the dock proved to make a more inter-esting work of art, particularly with the intention of using it as a Wall Mural.
This completes the posts of my sketches in the Wall Murals installed in the University of Hong Kong Centennial Campus Lecture Theatres.
I sincerely extend my thanks to all those responsible for the efforts to make these sketches part of Campus Masterpiece. Your sketching talents too can be crafted through determination, hard work and perseverance; and never through the use of Computer Aided Drawing software.
