Inside this book
Computer Aided Drawing software has changed the world of architecture dramatically. It now allows designers to create curvilinear buildings without hesitation. This phenomenon has revolutionized the perception of buildings, with repercussions radiating throughout the building industry. Consultants, builders and architects themselves are now pressured to seek innovative solutions and sketching techniques to compliment this new path.
About the Author
Born in Kingston, Jamaica and now resides in Hong Kong, Errol Hugh started his architectural career in 1963 when he enrolled at the Jamaica College of Technology. He was awarded the Alpha Rho Chi Medal with his Master Architecture Degree at the University of Manitoba in 1973 following completion of the Environmental Studies Degree in 1970. After a year as a 4th year design critic at the University of Manitoba, and a period of working for four years in various offices in Montreal, Ottawa, Vancouver, Winnipeg and Edmonton, he started his own private practice Errol Hugh Architect Ltd. In 1993 Errol Hugh moved to Hong Kong and worked with Wong & Ouyang for thirteen years, before joining LWK & Partners in early 2006. Over the years he kept sketchbooks of his architectural designs and has always encouraged his colleagues to sketch and produce free-hand drawings during their conceptual design stages.
