Be Aware & be Quick

Waiting to board a flight at Shenzhen International Airport, I was caught up in the complexities of the terminal building while trying to sketch the composition with the plane and the surrounding buildings. Whenever I have the opportunity, I like to sketch these flying machines.

This day however, made me realize that I must be aware and be quick when I am sketching a prime subject. In other words my strategy must always be to tend to the subject first. I was surprised that the plane had left the dock before I even tried to sketch it!
