HSBC Tower Hong Kong

  1. The HSBC headquarters building is quite a spectacular edifice. At my first visit to Hong Kong in 1983, I recall the building was under construction and had just rise above its foundation. It certainly was the talk of the town then and citizens were spellbound by the nature of the construction, something never seen before. The site is very small and as a result components of the building were all pre-assembled off site and off-shore and brought to Hong Kong and assembled. I can still recall the image of the building under construction, not covered up in scaffolding, as would be the case of other construction sites.
