Another “10 Second Sketch”
In 2006, 20 members of the Hong Kong Institute of Architects took an expedition to Los Angeles. They took hundreds of photographs, but only one member and I did sketches. Unfortunately our digital camera is the culprit that is far too convenient; easier to shoot than draw.
Anyhow here is a sketch I did in 10 seconds flat! It may seem like an inconsequential sketch, but it captured the scale of the massive building, I think, more dramatically than the photograph.
Compared with photo, sketch has much more character too.
Hi Errol,
The sketch makes the whole scene look a lot more dramatic! It doesn’t look inconsequential at all, in fact it cuts out the inconsequential details and puts the building (and its size) into focus.

Capturing the essence of an object or scene usually takes time. A 10 second sketch takes courage!
Yes, it does:)
