Sketching Journey Tips: Part 3
The Process continues
Before starting to sketch, I purposely frame my view, note my horizon plane (see Part 2 Tips), and then move around the site until these parameters complement the view I want to work on. You would then move on to establish your layers. The foreground layer, for example, could be an automobile (see sketch of Rue Juellte in Paris), or leaves from trees as illustrated in the sketch of Le Corbusier’s Chapel at Ronchamp, (see Framed View, 19 August 2009). Sketching these first, and the scale of your drawing will begin to unfold.
