Framed View

August 19, 2009

There is a story you want to tell. Any view will not illustrate your empathy towards the drama of your understanding of what you see. There are boundaries of what will restrain your sketch. Your sketchbook presents physical limitations and hence a scale of your view. Navigate your site to seek the view that will illustrate your story; identify the “Framed View”.

The composition of the various elements of Le Corbusier’s Chapel at Ronchamp is the story within my sketch. This angle was purposely chosen, including the setting among the hanging branches and the rising pathway. The Chapel is in the sketchbook’s middle-ground: the focus of the composition.
